I have the 1994 K1500 GMC Suburban trans to rebuild yet. Still need a new torque converter to complete my rebuild parts list there.
The Number 1 issue helping others online in the past is they take shortcuts.
The Front Oil pump fails.
Destroys the fresh rebuilt 700R4 & 4L60E.
Cover that rebuild later rhis year with many photos & my parts list used.

I have a 4L80E mated to the LS now, but the 3-4 clutch pack is stuck from setting 10 months in the impound lot. GM tranny's hate to sit idle..

Gotta send it back to the builder 1st thing, while I take the JKU apart. Hoping to get started ASAP as I have a Jeep event on Crystal Beach in May. :D
Unless you have a 2006 or Newer 6.0 LS truck engine VN I recall most LS Engines had the 4L60E trans.
2005 HD Trucks had the 4L65E...Heavy duty version of the 4L60E.
Some builders close up the 3-4 clutch pack clearances. I do the same.
There is a heavy drag turning the input shaft by hand afterwards.
Its ok if .030-.040" inch 3-4 clutch pack clearance used.
GM SET IT SUPER WIDE AT .070-.100" . TOO MUCH FOR HIGH TORQUE & HP ENGINES AT 375-450 HP & 400-500 FT/LBS FLYWHEEL POWER.

I haven't ever rebuilt a 4L80E transmission yet VN.
I had a few and gave them away to a friend.

Kept Several Turbo 400 Transmissions Chevy & Pontiac versions .
1 700 R4 spare core for a C4 gen Corvette.
And a 1964 Pontiac Super Hydromatic 4-Speed Transmission from a Bonneville.

All the Trailblazer SS guys (I am one), (6.0ltr 405 hp) LS2 w/ the 4L60E). the 4L60 barley holds up to the stock motor (lots of failure if driven hard). Couple of 4l60 and 70 hop up shops out there using (billet parts with tune, still lots of failure with 500+ hp, Dudes with $$ are using the 4l80, some are trying to come up with a man 6 speed set up but nobody has come up with the engine management system yet.

If you don't know what people are turning these things into:

The Turbo 400 is Idiot proof.
Bullet Proof.
#1 in drag racing again .
Time proven.
Even Ferrari & Rolls Royce used the GM TH400.
