We will see.
Mains and Rods for sure.
Rings appear OK After compression test.

Almost Pointless these days to get wild unless Its A RAIV Headed engine.
Or Turbo Charged Build.
1,000 HP Is Baseline Fast.

You know how expensive it gets from your Chevelle.
$100,000 spent easy.

June is the Best time to get machine work done here.
Otherwise it takes 6-12 months to get your parts and engine back.
Something to keep in mind.

The Evapo Rust Remover took out more crud again.
Amazing how much was inside hidden.

One Hell of a dust storm happened here today after work.
I seen a huge Dust cloud in smack middle of Joliet earlier right before 5 pm.
I have never seen it happen in Illinois all my life like today.
I can only imagine the 1930's Great Dust Bowl.
The Farmers here lost top soil.
Not me here. My Cornfield turned to a grass lawn this year.

No one in Illinois has their Crops in.
Strange year.

Sounds strange. Yes project creep to keep a motor together that is pushing it's limits gets costly. Controlling drive trane is costly! But rpm makes hp. So need to let it spin!!! Keeping my eyes open for deals!!!

:ridiculous: :toilet: :ridiculous: Be good or be good at it!!!

Usually by June if you have Racing in mind like you do John you need figure out whats exactly needed to get up and running.
July & August can be terrible to put a car together with Summer time heat. Been there.
Only way to get it done then in the heat is to work at night.
Or wake up early in the morning at 3 am and work till 10 am.
By 11 am its getting Hot.

In the Past Racers often fall short on cash around July.
Something broke or Blew up.'
To finish the season they often sell spare parts for cheep.
They need to finish the race season to get paid $$$$$$ from Sponsors.
Deals often found then.

Good to know will watch for deals as far as 100 degrees working on the car been there is what it is. If wearing glasses I have poured the sweat out of them tends to puddle. Just have to stay hydrated I will work in freezing or hot temps all the same. But I know where you are coming from.

Finally Rolling Free by hand with a breaker bar.
I used Vintage GM Top End Engine Cleaner.
Squirted about 1 ounce down each cylinder with spark plugs removed.
Dissolved the 60 year old carbon gunk from the Piston Ring grooves.
Piston Rings have proper Radial Back Clearance once again and able to rotate in piston ring grooves free.
Only took 5 minutes for Vintage GM Top End Engine Cleaner to get it done.
50 year old NOS New Can I bought off Ebay never opened used.
Best stuff Ever !
